Pragedis Chavez Contreas, age 42 of Temple, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Bryan, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. The family will gather at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple from 8:30 am to 10:45 am, prior to the service.

Pragedis o mas conocido como “Chimpo” era un hombre muy querido por su familia. Le encantaba estar active en las redes sociales y disfrutaba enviando memes. Disfrutaba regalando flores a sus hermanas y enviando mensajes de Buenos dias. Chimpo era extrovertido y hacia amigos donde quiera que fuera. Era un hombre fiable que estaba ahi cuando se le necesitaba.

Pragedis was born on October 22, 1978 to Juan and Petra Chavez in Miguel Negrete Durango.

Pragedis was preceded in death by his father, Juan Chavez; brothers, Eustacio Chavez, Arturo Chavez, and Armando Chavez; and uncle, Silvano Contreras.

He is survived by his mother, Petra Contreras; 8 brothers; and 4 sisters.
