Pedro Naranjo Jr.

Funeral services for Pedro "Pete" Garza Naranjo Jr., 67, of Temple, will be held 10 AM, Monday, August 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Moffat, 13929 Moffat Road. A time of visitation and fellowship will take place from 5 to 7 PM Sunday August 19, 2018 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 PM.

Mr. Naranjo passed from this life at a local hospital while surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Pete was born on February 17, 1951 to Pedro Sr. and Geneveva Nananjo in Beeville, TX.

Pete was a lifelong resident of Temple. Pete was a strong and faithful Christian man. One of his favorite things in life was baseball and softball. He loved to play as a young man and was a great pitcher. He also coached little league for a long time. There is no place he'd rather be most days than at his grandkids sporting events. His grandchildren always knew he was there to support them because he was the loudest fan in the stands, the umpires also knew where he was at all times. Mr. Naranjo's greatest treasure in life was his family. The holidays were a special time for Pete. He loved to cook for the holidays and any other special occasion. He was a great baker and was great with a BBQ pit. He always found time to cook something special for his grandchildren. He was always the life of the party. Pete had many close friends that were family to him. He had never met a stranger and was always willing to help a friend in need whenever he could. He touched many lives. He was a true family man at the heart of it all. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Alicia; sons, Randy Naranjo, Andy Naranjo; Ricky Naranjo Sr.; daughter, Lisa Naranjo; sisters, Ninfa Melendez, Rebecca Malvitz; and most especially his grandchildren, Christopher, Ricky Jr., Erick, Jordan, Kylie, Lauren, Alyssa, Bryant, Madison, Jaden, Savanah, and Lucas.
