Paul Hicks

Paul Edward Hicks, 85, of Temple passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at his home.
He was born May 17, 1933 in Old Town, Kentucky to Vernon and Ida (Howard) Hicks. He graduated from Greenup High School in 1951. He joined the United States Air Force in May of 1952 and proudly served until March of 1960. After separating from the Air Force he was self-employed truck driver and mechanic until he became medically disabled. He later helped teach mechanics classes at a local community college. Paul married Marjorie E. Paine on November 19, 1954 in Denver, Colorado, she preceded him in death on December 8, 2016. He was a member of the American Legion Post 116 in Lometa, Texas and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his children, Emory Vernon Hicks of Ashland, Kentucky, William Bradbury Hicks of Temple, Texas and Cassandra Hicks Weintraub of Darnestown, Maryland; a sister, Zola White of Ashland, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Brenda Hicks Serna, Kimberly Hicks, Rachel Weintraub, and Alexander Weintraub; and 3 great-grandchildren, Logan Serna, Lilly Serna and Amelia Prince.
