Paul Guillen

Paul Guillen, 76, of Temple, died Monday, April 28, 2008 in a local hospital.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the funeral home with rosary to follow at 7 P.M.

Mr. Guillen was born to Felipe and Amalia Martinez Guillen in Corsicana, Texas on April 2, 1932. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 7th Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a Golf Pro, a member of the Pan American Golf Association in Temple, and retired from Temple College Golf Course after 22 years of service.

Survivors include three sons, Roland Guillen of Temple, Larry Guillen of Phoenix, Arizona and Gill Bo Guillen of Temple; one daughter, Diane Guillen Starnes of Austin; three brothers, John Guillen of Temple, Lee Guillen of Corsicana and Fred Guillen of Temple; one sister, Dominga Martinez of Lorena; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Veda Guillen on September 11, 1987; three brothers; and one sister.
