Oscar Martinez, Sr.

Funeral services for Oscar Maldonado Martinez, Sr. will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Reverend Tom Chamberlain officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Mr. Martinez, 53 of Temple died Monday, April 27 in a local hospital. He was born in Temple, February 21, 1956 to the late Mike and Sarah Maldonado Martinez. He married Lupe Tobar, February 21, 1976 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was a floor tech supervisor for Scott and White Hospital, he had previously worked for ARTCO Bell, Bandies Laboratories and Wilson Art for 13 years then worked at Bestrite.

Mr. Martinez was a hard working man, a great father, role model, friend and husband.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Lupe Tobar Martinez of Temple, children: Oscar Maldonado Martinez, Jr. of Temple, Krystal April Pierluisses of Belton, Candace Marie Vasquez of Temple, Orlando Mike Martinez of Temple, Jobina Martinez of Temple and Jamie Martinez of Temple, brother: Paul Velasquez of Atlanta, GA., two sisters, Mary Joyce Valerio and Mary Loyce Zamora both of Temple, also surviving are 23 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
