Opal Adams

Opal B. Young Adams, 91, of Temple, TX, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Scott White Hospital.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at HarperTalasek Funeral Home. Private interment will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park Garden of Peace on January 17, 2013.
Bea was born on April 28, 1921 to Admiral Dewey and G. May Phillips Young of Temple, TX, graduated from Temple High School, was employed with the federal government for over 40 years, including Camp Hood, TX, VA Hospital, Temple, TX, and Barksdale Air Force Base, Shreveport, LA., where she retired. She attended Centenary College and Louisiana State University at Shreveport, Shreveport, LA, and served as union president, AFGE, Barksdale AFB.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Adams, M.D. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Greene, a sister, Helen Craft, nephew, Carl John Craft and wife Aleshia, niece, Patricia Young Watkins and husband Jim, of Temple, TX, her grandson, Donald Harlan Simpson, 2 great grandchildren, Franklin and Julie, 2 great nieces, Carla Craft and Melissa Craft Lopez and husband Johnny, and a great great niece, Aubrey Lee Lopez. HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple is in charge of services.
