Nelta Vanderveer

Private family services are planned for Nelta Jo Vanderveer, 80, of Temple. Mrs. Vanderveer died Monday, April 11, 2016 at a local care facility.

Nelta Jo Vanderveer was born June 15, 1935 in Temple, Texas to Fred McCray and Mae Estelle Strong McCray. She graduated Temple High School and, in December 1955, married Bobby Don Vanderveer.

She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ; the Community Emergency Response Team of Bell County; and was an Event Registrator at the Francis Graham Hall.

Mrs. Vanderveer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years; brothers Howell McCray and Fred D. McCray; and sisters Gloria Rice and Sonja Strickland.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Dan Vanderveer; daughter, Tina Jo Morgan and husband, Mike; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
