Nelda Patschke

Services for Nelda Hilliard Patschke, 66, of Temple will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14th, at Trinity Lutheran Church on Marlandwood in Temple. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.

The Lord called Mrs. Patschke to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 9th, at her residence in Temple.

Nelda was born August 6, 1948 in Temple, Texas to Harvey and Evelyn Reynolds Hilliard. She graduated from Temple High School. In 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Patschke. She worked in Franklin's Dress Shop. Her family started in 1968, when the first of her two sons was born. She was a proud mother. She enjoyed taking her boys to band practice, sporting events, and other school activities. She was a homemaker and a loving wife. She followed Larry all over the country and finally came back home to Temple in 1977. Her heart's desire was listening to and singing gospel and country music. Her favorite TV show was Days of Our Lives and watching Nascar with her husband and sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Emmitt Hilliard, Jackie Hilliard, and Don Hilliard; a sister, Ella Johnston and her husband Robert.

Nelda is survived by her husband, Larry; sons Douglas Patschke and wife Sarah, and Darren Patschke; brother, Freddy Hilliard; sister, Joyce Wood; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13th, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
