Mass of Christian Burial for Natalia Perez Avila, 87, of Temple, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.
Mrs. Avila passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, January 14, at home while surrounded by her loving family.
Natalia Perez Avila was born December 29, 1929 in Austin, Texas to Gregorio Perez and Manuala Melendez Perez. She married the love of her life, Ines M. Avila Sr. on March 4, 1946. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.
Mrs. Avila is remembered as a wonderful cook who knew all of her recipes by heart and each one was made with love and care. Her greatest pride in life was being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Avila was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a grandson, Edward Perez Avila.
Those left to honor and cherish Natalia's memory are her children, Joe P Avila and wife Sylvia of Temple, Irene Avila Barrientos and husband Julio of Temple, George P Avila and wife Angelina of Temple, Jerry P Avila and wife Leticia of Temple, Ines M Avila Jr. of Temple, Alice Avila Ramirez and husband Victor of Belton; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Temple, 500 W. Barton. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7 p.m..
