Nancy Lee McGrath

June 18, 1944 — July 28, 2023

Cameron

Nancy Lee (Scott) Crockett McGrath was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on June 18, 1944, to Ray Merle and Willa Victorine (McVey) Scott. Nancy entered Heavens gates on July 28, 2023. She died at home in Cameron, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Scott, her second husband Charles F. McGrath, and her son Charles John McGrath.

She is survived by her first husband and lifelong friend, Charles H. Crockett, of Temple, Tx: sisters Sheryl Eid of Fort Madison, Ia and Lora (Kenny) Merrill of Fairfield, Iowa, and brother Allan Scott of Missouri: Sons, Charles (Combned) Crockett of Loganville, Georgia; Casey (Angella) Crockett of Temple, Texas; Sean (Patti) McGrath of Clinton, Louisiana, and Daniel McGrath of Vinton, Louisiana: Daughters Melody (Allen) Hill of Cameron, Texas; Monica (Dennis) Peppers of Birmingham, Alabama; and Melissa (Steven) Talley of Cove, Arkansas: 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Nancy gave her life to Christ at the age of 14. She was a shy person but loved to tell others of her love for Jesus, and what He meant to her. She raised her children to seek first the Kingdom of God, and that the Bible held all the wisdom and answers in life that they would ever need. Nancy was an RN and was a psychiatric nurse for 20 years. Upon her retirement, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Cameron, and enjoyed spending time reading, visiting with her family, and loving her rescued pets that provided her years of companionship. Nancy will be missed greatly by her family, until we meet again in Heaven.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
