Miriam Lundy

Services for Miriam Alice Lundy, 77, of Temple, will be 10 am Saturday, May 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple with Father Steve Sauser officiating. Burial will take place at 3 pm in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Palestine, Texas.

Ms. Lundy passed away Tuesday, May 22, at her home in Temple.

Miriam Alice Lundy was born December 2, 1940 in Dallas, Texas to Ray Lundy and Inez L. Roberts Lundy. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1959 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Lundy lived in Temple since 1979, having lived previously in Atlanta, Georgia, Mexico City, Austin, and Palestine. She worked for the Department of Agriculture for 34 years; first as a Clerk, then as an Analyst in Mexico City and later as an Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia. She later became an investigator with the Department of Agriculture. Miriam enjoyed archeological digs and foreign travel. Her love of travel took her to Italy, France, Jerusalem, Spain and England. Miriam was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Ben Milam Chapter, and served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Chaplain. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Ms. Lundy was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ray "Bob" Lundy, Max Allen Lundy, and Peter Charles Lundy.

She is survived by her brother, Francis Gerald Lundy of Colorado; her sister, Elizabeth Ann Chambless of Beeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Miriam's name may be made to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be 6 -8 pm Friday, May 25, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7 pm.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
