Minnie Lancaster

Services for Minnie Huffhines Lancaster, 87, of Temple, will be held at 10 am Friday, October 5, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. Burial to follow at Oenaville Cemetery in Oenaville. Minnie passed away Sunday, September 30, at a local care facility.

She was born in Dallas County on January 28, 1931, to John S. (Major) Huffhines and Ola Christie Huffhines. Minnie graduated from Troy High School in 1948. She was a member of the Belfalls Baptist Church for many years. She married Harold Lancaster on December 10, 1948. She was employed at Troy ISD for 23 years before retiring in 2001. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends. There were always a lot of laughs. She was a fun loving person and cared for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, her sister, Mary, her brother, Donald, and her daughter in law, Judy.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis Lancaster & wife, Connie, Jerry Lancaster & wife, Paula, her grandchildren, Doug (Summer) Lancaster, Daryl (Charline) Lancaster, Jerrod Lancaster, Jenna (Dustin) Metcalf, Elizabeth (Josh) Jans, & Cardo (Sydney) Odom, her great grandchildren, Ava Joy, Braelynn, Emmerson, Skylee, Andralyn, Jesse, Colter, Sawyer. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews, cousins & many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
