Michael Frei

Michael Wayne Frei, 70 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at home. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.

Michael was born on July 20, 1951, to Alois Herman and Laverne (Beach) Frei in Temple, Texas. He married Janice (Koch) Frei on August 22, 1981. He worked for American Desk Manufacturing Company for 20 years and then for Wilsonart for 20 years. Michael loved fishing and was a life long Catholic. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Koch Frei; brother, James Frei; sister, Katherine Frei Wilson; sons, Daniel Michael Frei, and Mark Andrew Frei and wife, Amy G. Frei; grandchildren, Adam Leo Frei, Aaron Michael Frei, Cassidy Grace Frei, and Scarlett Marie Frei; niece, Suzanne Horne; nephew, Ryan Wilson; aunts, Juanita Buxkemper, Ruth Jahns, and Lillian Beach; and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Church of the Visitation Catholic Church Rebuilding Fund, Westphalia, Texas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Troy Police Department and the EMS First Responders for their valiant efforts.
