Michael R. Flores (Mike) 71, of Temple, Texas was called to be with our heavenly Father on Thursday October 1, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family after a battle with Cancer. Mike was born at home on April 14, 1944 in Hanover, Texas to Catarino and Guadalupe Rivera Flores. He married Josephine Lopez on August 11, 1962. Mike was self employed and owned Flores Control Service AC/Heating & Electrical. He was a very kind and loving person and had a passion for helping people in need and never expected anything back in return. He was devoted to his Church and always attended daily Mass when he was able too.
Mike's biggest passion was his family and would do anything for them. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Mike's work also brought him in contact with many people and he was not a stranger to anyone. He knew many people and remembered them all by name. Mike's second passion was his love for music, he was an accomplished self-taught musician and in his younger years had a Tejano music band. Mike wrote and recorded several songs, and enjoyed playing the accordion and loved Gospel music, he wrote a Gospel song titled "Diosito Diosito" and later recorded by his son Michael M. Flores.
Michael is survived by his wife of 53 years Josephine; and his 6 children, Hope Flores Mitchell, Michael M. Flores and wife Brenda, Salvador Flores and wife Yolanda from Temple, Texas, Elvira Morris and husband Robert from Clinton, TN, Anita Smith and husband Will, Catarina Flores and fiancé Jose Avila from Temple, Texas and 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grand children.
He is survived by his brother, Marcelino Flores and 3 sisters Josephine Corona, Maryann Lopez of Cameron, Texas and Mary Enriqueta Flores of Ohio.
