Michael Burns

Graveside services for Michael Dowl Burns, 67, of Temple, will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Salado with Rick Reed officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Michael Dowl Burns was born in Morton, Texas on August 26, 1947 to John Dowl Burns and Vivian Loyd Stephens. He graduated from University High School in Waco, Texas. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and drove the ammunition truck. He married his one true love in June of 1971. He retired from Pactiv in 2009 after 21 years as a factory worker. He always had a knack for working on cars and keeping up with local real estate. He enjoyed reading, eating and traveling.

Mr. Burns is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Frances Love Burns; brother, Thomas Lively; two sisters, Betty Gardner and husband Gene and Reba Leming and husband Leonard.
