alignjustifyMervyn Jones was born August 9, 1919 to William A. and Rose Powell Jones in Melbourne, Australia. In 1940, he married Mary Damanche in St. Louis, Missouri. He was in the United States Navy, serving in World War II as a Chief Aviation Machinist Mate. He worked as a machinist for Union Carbide in Port Lavaca, Texas for 25 years. Mervyn Jones was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

alignjustifyHe is preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. BRBRSurvivors include: daughter Elizabeth Reichert of Temple, sons; William Jones of Foster, Rhode Island and Thomas Jones of Nolanville, sister Frances Bliss of Missouri, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
