Maximina Rios

Services for Minnie Garcia Rios,93, of Temple, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple, with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Rios died October 15, 2015 at a local hospital.

Minnie was born April 5, 1922 in Prairie Lee, Texas to Augustine and Maria Garcia. She married Joe B. Rios in Corpus Christi and to this union seven children were born, including Johnnie Joe Rios, who died as a youth. She worked at Scott & White Hospital in Unit Support for over 31 years. She was a loving mother and homemaker and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; sons Johnnie Joe and Ernesto Rios; and daughter, Belia Rios Leija.

Minnie is survived by her sons, C.G. (Cipriano) Rios of Temple and Tony (Antonio) Rios of Troy; daughters, Matilda R. Vriseno and Mary Rios-Saunders of Temple; eighteen grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with recitation of rosary at 7:00 p.m.
