Mary Alice was born August 10, 1924 in Mexia, TX to Troy Lindsey Fowler and Charles West Fowler.  She lived in Texas all her life until she met the love of her life, David Andes, at Camp Barkley in Abilene where he was stationed for officer training in the Army prior to being deployed to Germany during WWII.  They married in Abilene October 5, 1946 and returned to Dave's home in upstate New York and Mary Alice enjoyed her first experience living outside of Texas.
