Mary Zajicek

Services for Mary Zajicek, 88, of Temple will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Reverend Ernest Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mary Zajicek died on Friday, October 20, 2017 at her residence.

Mary Zajicek was born January 6, 1929 to Jesus and Andrea Jimenez in Pandora, Texas. She graduated from high school. She married Johnny Zajicek and both where members of East Highway 53 Baptist Church. Mary worked 30 years for 7-11 stores until her retirement. She loved her children and enjoyed playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Zajicek; two daughters, Carmen Cavallero and Jacqueline Cavallero; a son, David Cavallero; four brothers, Jesus Jimenez, Louis Jimenez, Joe Jimenez, and Ralph Jimenez; two grandson, Matthew Sanders and James Land; and a granddaughter, Sarah Powell.

Survivors include her four daughters, Esther Jump of Longview, Washington, Irene Powell of Temple, Texas, Olga Land of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Rosemary Grider of Bullhead City, Arizona; one son, Adrian Cavallero of Cumberland City, Tennessee; a sister, Herlinda Ramos; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Scott & White Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, October 27 at the funeral home.

Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
