Mary Helen Stephens

Private services will be held at a later date for Mary Stephens, 82 of Temple.

Ms. Stephens died Sunday, June 28, at a local care facility.

She was born in Texas on December 29, 1932 to Henry and Stella Brooks Burrier. Mary was a very independent woman. She was a hard worker and did her own building, plumbing and roofing. She collected dolls from the 1940's and loved being outdoors.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Sandra Curtiss.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Giles and husband William, and Rose Lecheminant; two sisters Shirley Hamill and Viola Jolly; and numerous grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
