Mary Perez

Services for Mary J. Perez, 59, of Temple will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Harper-Talasek Family Center.

Mrs. Perez died Sunday, May 29 at her residence.

She was born October 20, 1956 in Bell County to Juan Valerio Sr. and Concepcion Guerrero Valerio. She married Rudy M. Perez Sr. in 1973. She was a proud mother to her three children. She served as a head maid in various hotel chains. Mary enjoyed Motown music, watching Days of our Lives and collecting animal figurines. She spent her time smoking and joking. She was easy going and a great listener. She taught everyone to be humble and take one day at a time. She was a member of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Rudy M. Perez Sr., two sons, Rudy Perez Jr. and wife Tandy, Edward Perez and wife Erica, one daughter Alice Perez, four brothers, Johnny Valerio Sr., Charlie Valerio and wife Adela, Jesse Valerio, and Sammy Rodriguez, three sisters, Carmen Valerio, Helen Hernandez and husband Adolf, Anthony Cummings and husband Tony, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Guadalupe Valerio, Richard Valerio, and Andrew Lara.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 3, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm.
