Mary Miller

Graveside services for Mary E. Miller, 96, of Temple, will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 18 at Holland Cemetery with Brother Billy Koinm officiating.

Mrs. Miller went to be with her Lord the evening of Wednesday, December 13th.

Mary was born January 18, 1921 in Oenaville, Texas to Homer and Lillian Edith Ligon Hobday. She married Elvis C. Miller on April 1, 1942 in Los Angeles, California.

She served her Lord in many capacities at Heights Baptist Church, where she became a member in 1963. Mary worked for LaVega ISD and Temple ISD. She retired from TISD
in 1984.

Those who knew Mary, knew she was very independent, but loved her visits with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She always had a cake made for
anyone who came to visit. She was a great cook, never missed anyone's birthday, and loved her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis, who passed away in 1989.

Mary is survived by two sons; Ron Miller and wife Jeanie, of Salado and Ray Miller and wife Phyllis, of Temple; five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patsy Steinert;
and a brother, Jack Hobday.

Memorials may be made to Heights Baptist Church of Temple, 1220 S. 49th Street, Temple Texas 76504.

Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, December 17, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
