Memorial services for Mary E. Luna, 76, of Temple will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Father Steve Saucer officiating. Cremation will follow.
Mary Esther Luna died on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at a local care facility.
Mary E. Luna was born on April 24, 1941 to Basilio Trevino Sr. and Telesfora Salazar in Belton, Texas. Mary was proud of her family and spent most of her time cooking fried fish and sour salad. Her hobbies included word puzzles and coloring felted pictures for her family. She was a devout Catholic and decorated proudly throughout her home. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served as a Guadalupana.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Guadalupe Moreno and Silibera Lopez; one brother, Edward Trevino; and one grandchild, Carlos Vasquez Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Tisdora M. Luna Sr.; two sons, Daniel T. Luna and Tisdora M. Luna Jr. and wife Freda Luna; four daughters, Helen Harding and husband Michael DeLeon Sr., Vicki Vasquez and husband Carlos Vasquez Sr., Cuca T. Carranza, and Rebecca M. Luna; two sisters, Lillie T. Sotero and Gloria S. Alvarez; two brothers, Basilio Trevino Jr. and wife Rose Trevino and Joe A. Trevino; nineteen grandchildren, Stephen F. Harding, William S. Harding, Michael T. Luna, Michelle A. Vasquez, Lisa A. Vasquez, Kristyna A. Vasquez, Chris Vasquez, Michael Tapia, Jessie F. Luna, Crystal A. Smith, Andrew Luna, Adrian E. Vargas, Andre G. Vargas, Ariel A. Anguiano, Rojelio L. Vargas, Zayn A. Tovar, Desiree L. Tovar, Oriana T. Sheeler, and John H. Tovar; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm with Recitation of Rosary at 7:00 pm.
