Mary Hendricks

Mary E. Hendricks, 82 of Belton died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home.
Memorial service for Mary E. Hendricks will be 2 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Hospital Chapel in Temple.
Mrs. Hendricks was born on December 17, 1930, to Roy and Blanche Powell Netherton in Oklahoma City, Okla. On May 29, 1953 she married Louis D. Hendricks in Muskogee, Okla. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Muskogee and Shawnee, Okla and in Fort Worth, Texas. She earned a BS degree in home economics from Oklahoma Baptist University. She was an avid seamstress with a variety of machines.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Temple she served as a pastors wife in Oklahoma and in her husbands chapel programs in the Army and in the Temple VA hospital chapel.
Mrs. Hendricks was pianist and sang in chapel and church choirs. She was First Lady of the Texas Hill Country unit of the RV Club of Airstream owners in 1990.
She is survived by her husband Louis D. Hendricks of Belton, one son Donald Ray Hendricks of Fort Worth two daughters: Darla Gay Danko of Saint Paul, Minn. and Marsha Kay Tovar of Temple nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at the HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons at P O Box 1023, Belton, Texas 76513 or to Scott White Hospice at 2401 South 31st Street Temple, Texas 75608.
