Mary Gartman

Mary Beth Foyt Gartman, 88, of California, formerly of Temple, passed away at a living facility in California. Services will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple Chapel at 1 pm with burial to follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.
Mary was born on July 6, 1924 to Billy and Treacy Lauer Graham in Browns Creek, Texas. Mary married Leland Foyt and he preceded her in death in 1970. She worked as a Beautician in Temple before working at TDCJS for over 10 years as a Correctional Officer. Mary had many loves in her life, a few of which were fishing, music, family, baseball, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Those who met Mary remember her with fondness.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her children two daughters Mary Lou Knapp of Grass Valley, Ca., Gay Lee Foyt of Kansas City, Mo., a son Rudy Woods of Bastrop, Tx., two sisters Sybil Beal and Cleo VanWinkle, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of dear friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 68 pm at the funeral home. Services in care of HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple.
