Mary Depew

Mary Ann "Grandma" DePew, 93, of Bartlett, originally of Austin, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at a local hospital.

Mary was born December 29, 1924 to James and Maude (Smith) Compton in Austin, Texas. She attended school in Austin and later worked for 42 years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Her greatest pride was her family and she absolutely delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had the biggest heart and was known for her ability to treat so many as family. Everyone knew her as Grandma and she will be missed by so many. She was a member of Yegua Creek Evangelical Free Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, John DePew; her sister, Joyce Holman; her daughter, Theresa Lee Taylor; and her grandson, Clifton Casaubon.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, Rusty DePew of Holland; her grandchildren, Garrett Casaubon of Irving, Eric DePew of Holland, Aimee Green of Moody, Brandon Casaubon of Valley Mills, Thomas DePew of Evanstone, WY, Trey Casaubon of Temple, and Patricia DePew of Burnet; and her 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday, October 29 at First Baptist Church in Holland, Texas.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of the arrangements.
