Mary Chaffin

Mary Berger Chaffin, 93 of Temple, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 in a local hospital. Graveside service will be 3pm Wednesday at Greathouse Cemetery with Rev. Don Thompson officiating.

Mary Chaffin was born February 3, 1916 to Lewis and Lillian Mullins Berger in Temple, Texas. She graduated from Temple High school. In 1935, she was married to A.C. Chaffin in Temple. She worked as a wife and mother. Mary Chaffin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Temple.

She is preceded in death by her husband, sisters; Sammie Lee and Nora Jo, and brother, Lewis Mitchell Berger, Jr.

Survivors include daughters; Peggy Lipsy and husband Bob of Round Rock, and Sharon Rhoades of Katy, son, Joe H. Chaffin and wife Donna of Little River-Academy, grandchildren; Terry Lee Park, Cary Lynn Psencik, Jeffrey David Rhoads and wife Julie, Jennifer Walker and husband Fred, Amanda Jo Chaffin, and A.C. Chaffin and wife Jennifer, and 13 great grandchildren.
