Services for Martin Arron McManis, 61 of Temple, will be at noon on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Martin Arron McManis was born October 18, 1958 in Fort Benning, Georgia to Joe William McManis and Nola Theresa Shank McManis. He was married to Barbara McManis. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Pistol Bar, the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Tank Weapons Bar, the Army Service Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal, an NCO Professional Development Ribbon With Numeral 1, and an Army Achievement Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. He was later employed with McManis Home Maintenance. Martin McManis was a family man who was loved and respected. He loved spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren, and hosting family poker night.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nola and Joe William McManis, and a brother, Lambert McManis.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Joe McManis and Jeremy McManis; two daughters, Vivian Alvarado and Robyn Anders; a sister, Theresa Lawson; and six grandchildren, Blake McManis, Drew Kemp, Akasha Stone, Dashall McManis, Isabelle Anders, and Lily McManis.
Visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. Thursday, September 10, at the funeral home.
