M. Jean Wells
Services for Marth Jean Wells, 92, of Temple will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 22 at First Christian Church in Temple with Pastor Don Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in procession to Bellwood Cemetery.
Jean Wells passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at a local care facility.
Martha Jean Wells was born on August 10, 1924 to Neal Ham and Lela May Stouard in Lusk, Texas. She graduated from Woodson High school. At the age of 18 she married her sweetheart, Cecil Wells in Springfield, Ohio. Together they started their family in 1949 with their first daughter and continued in 1953 with their second daughter. Mrs. Wells was a homemaker and great supporter of her husband who was a WW.II Air Force Colonel. She was a volunteer member of the Red Cross. Jean loved to bowl, play bridge, and garden. After their retirement she moved to Temple in 1971. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Temple.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, parents, daughter, Celia Jean Wells, brother, Murry Ham and a sister Nell McLaurin.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Richards and son- in- law Frederick.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the First Christian Church in Temple.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Funeral home.
