Marjorie Etta Anderson Weir passed away peacefully January 6, 2010. She was born to George and Alleyne Anderson on March 8th, 1931 at Golden, Colo. She was a twin, but her twin sister, Mazie Edna, died soon after birth.
Little Margie never looked back, she was a gogetter from the start. She was welcomed by siblings, George L, Vernon L, Oletha Lee Elizabeth, Hazel Janice, Pearl Virginia, Nola Anna, Martha Alleyne, and Marion L. A younger brother Russell L, came in to the family Aug 25, 1933 in Bakersfield, CA.
The family moved a great deal due to the Great Depression eventually ending up in California. Little Margie bloomed in the warmer climate of California growing into a lovely young women.
She met her soulmate, Ed Weir, in the late 40s and they celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his death in 2003. They lost a child, James Leroy in 1950. Thomas Gerald Bud was born in 1952, and Pamela Lynn was born 1954.
Marge is predeceased by her husband, Ed and two sons, James Leroy and Thomas Gerald and is survived by her daughter, Pam Brickey, granddaughter, Tara Brickey, greatgranddaughter, Dakota Lynn Brickey, niece, Etta Case who is like a daughter to her, by some 32 other nieces and nephews, and by her dear friends, Gene and Brenda Calhoun.
She relocated to Temple, TX from Galveston, TX after Hurricane Ike.
In lieu of flowers donations to Vistacare Hospice, 2626 S. 37th Street, Temple, TX 76504 or to the American Red Cross P O Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 would be appreciated.
Visitation will be 9:00 10:00 a.m., Friday with funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Reverend Gary Baxley will officiate. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
