Services for Marilyn Elizabeth Smith, 61, of Troy will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 13 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Rick Reed officiating. Burial will be private at Roberts Cemetery.

Marilyn passed away and went to be with her heavenly family on Monday, January 9, 2017 in a local hospital.

Marilyn Elizabeth Smith (Payne) was born on July 15, 1955 to Woodrow Wilson Payne and Cora Mae Brown Payne in Bell County, Texas. Marilyn was a member of the Highway 53 Baptist Church. She enjoyed dancing, especially to her favorite song "Old Time Rock and Roll". She was always seen in her long sleeve button down shirts and blue jeans.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Payne; and a sister, Frances Davis.

Survivors include her stepson, Tony Smith and wife Jennifer; two brothers, John Payne and Billy Payne; six sisters, Linda Puryear, Mary Crawford, Thelma Rozinski, Hilda Guthrie, Mildred Turner, and Ludean Rader; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
