Marguerite Louise Hamby, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many through her kindness and dedication, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on April 12, 1930, in Kingman, Kansas, she was a cherished daughter of the late Otto and Mable Lindt. Marguerite's journey through life was marked by a deep love for her family, friends, and community.

A proud graduate of Berryville High School in Arkansas, Marguerite embarked on a fulfilling career as a dietician at the VA Hospital, where she had the opportunity to serve those who had bravely served the nation. She also shared many laughs and created countless memories with her garden club, finding joy and solace in tending to her beloved plants. The holiday dinners and family reunions that she cherished each year were filled with laughter and love, gathering everyone around the table where stories were shared. Marguerite was a devoted member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Temple, Texas, where she found a second family within her church community.

Marguerite is preceded by her parents; first husband, Jesse Miller; second husband, Otis Hamby; brothers, Richard Lindt, John Lindt, and Charles Lindt; and sisters, Minnie Cooksey, Opal Shoumake, Helen Lamb, Ida Mae Payne, and Betty Trickle.

Survivors include her sons, Tim Miller, and Stan Miller; daughter, Nancy Tawater; and sister, Joretta Schwinn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Temple, and the Parkinson’s Foundation.
