Margaret Briley Young passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born on October 28, 1943, to Jack and Ruby Thomas in Temple, Texas.
Margaret graduated from Temple High School in Temple, Texas in 1962, and from Temple Jr. College in 1964. She moved to Killeen, Texas and married Michael Young in 2012. At 16, in summer, she worked at Kyle Drug, and after graduation, she worked at S&H Kress. Later she worked at Kings Daughters Insurance office. From there she was given a job by the City of Temple in the Traffic Department, and later became the Secretary to Captain Keifer of the Uniform Division. After there, she went to Ira Young Auto. She was a Secretary of Bell County Adult Probation and then spent 19 years at Scott & White as a Medical Transcriptionist, retiring at the age of 68. Her retirement was not due to age or health, but because of voice recognition, a new computer science. How sad.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin Briley in 2010, and her only son, Charles Melancon in 2023.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple, Texas.
