Margaret Wilkerson

Margaret Lenora Hain Wilkerson, 95 of Midland, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in Temple, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 10 am Monday, April 11, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Margaret was born on May 17, 1926, to John and Eunice Hain in Missouri. She married Carroll Cleveland Wilkerson (1926-2012) in January of 1945. They had 3 children: Thomas Lee Wilkerson (1945-2020), John William Wilkerson (1949-1981) and Margaret Carol Wilkerson (1955-1963). They moved to Midland, Texas in 1961. They settled into a home and raised their children. She also became a long-standing member of Crestview Baptist Church. Her door was always open and so was her puzzle table. There was never a day that she wasn’t working on a puzzle. Fried chicken, banana pudding, candy, Sprite, and coffee were her favorites. She loved puttering in her yard or sitting on the patio. She could tell you the names of all the birds and plants. You ask and she would share her opinions about all the current sports teams. She was a crafter. Her sewing room was filled with fabric, yarn, and beads. She could crochet the best hot pads! She treasured her photographs and the stories they represented. Over the years, she spent much time and love hand writing the stories to them. Her family appreciates her dedication to this task as so much of the family history has been preserved. She was a mother, wife, sister, grandmother, caregiver, lover of nature and was devoted to her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her two granddaughters and their husbands, Tanya and Archie Moore and Shannon and Scott Schley. She was very proud of her 4 great grandchildren and their spouses, Travis and Jordan Moore, Taylor Schley, Philip and Grace Moore, and Amanda Moore. She loved getting to spend time with her 3 great great grandchildren.
