Margaret Russ

Margaret Ann Curtis Russ, age 89, died January 2 in a local hospital. She was born February 17, 1921 in Temple to Isaac Curtis and Girda Emma Aycock.

She was a 1938 graduate of Temple High School. She was employed as a secretary at American Desk Manufacturing Company for nine years, moving to San Angelo in 1965. She retired as executive vice president of 1st Community Federal Credit Union after 25 years.

She and her husband Ken returned to Temple in 1989. They were members of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.K. Ken Russ in 2009.

Survivors include one daughter Druane McLoud and husband Jerry of Temple. Step daughter Regina Rainey and husband Jim of Newport, Washington. Grandchildren Steve Ford, Jr. and Lorie Rogers Hopper and 5 great grandchildren, all of Temple.

No funeral services are planned. Family visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
