Services for Margaret Janette Richter, 77, of Temple, will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 2 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Tommy Popelka officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Richter passed away Monday, February 26, at a local hospital.
Margaret Janette Richter was born October 2, 1940 in Temple, Texas to Curtis Williams and Doris Garner Williams. She graduated from Temple High School in 1959 and attended Sam Houston State University. She retired from Temple ISD, where she was employed as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Taylor's Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Richter's hobbies included reading, puzzles, painting, and drawing. She loved time with family and friends, and spending time watching Hallmark movies, Nascar, golf, and football - especially cheering on the Temple Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys!
Mrs. Richter was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Doris Williams, and an infant daughter.
She is survived by her sons Kyle Richter and wife Amanda and Koy Richter and wife Janice; daughters Misti Weaver and husband Chance and Marli South and husband Bill; brothers Wendell Williams and wife Carolyn and Randy Williams and wife Shelly; a sister, Daurice Malina and husband Jerry; five grandchildren, Ariana Richter, Kayli South, Brock Weaver, Blane South, and Ashley Hardcastle-Alopra and two great-grandchildren, Riley Witt and Phenix Alopra.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's name may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
The family wishes to thank their family, friends, and special care givers for their prayers, support, and care during this time.
