Services for Margaret Olean Hignight James Lange will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Temple with Pastor Pat Dietrich officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Lange died Tuesday, January 21, at a local nursing facility.

She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on February 22, 1927, to Creed Hignight and Lucy Jones Hignight. She graduated from Lakeside High School in 1945 and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator that same year. She transferred to Victoria, Texas where she married Marvin Lange on November 7, 1958. They later moved to the Temple area, where they lived for 44 years.

Mrs. Lange was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Temple and served on the church council, fellowship committee, and sign committee. She was a member and served as an officer for BellTex Sams Camping Club, Central Texas Antique Automobile Club, and Jefferson Elementary School PTO. After retiring from Southwestern Bell in 1977, she worked for Temple National Bank Extraco for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Lange of Temple sons Larry Lange of Dripping Springs, Johnny Lange of San Antonio, and Daniel Lange of Owatonna, MN sisters Lou Rushing of Napa, California and Vivian Mulholland of South Reding, Virginia brothers Jason Hignight of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Michael Hignight of Florida and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be 68 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at HarperTalasek Funeral Home.

The family requests that donations may be made in Margarets name to First Lutheran Church, 1515 W. Adams, Temple, Texas 76504.
