Mrs. Margaret Sue Collier, 82, of Belfalls, died Wednesday in a Temple hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home with Rev. Ellen Ely officiating. Burial will be in Belfalls Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Collier was born to J. T. and Plevna Ladell Pardue Garren in Turnersville on March 15, 1926. She received a B.S. degree from North Texas State University. She married W. C. Muggins Collier, Jr. in Turnersville on June 18, 1949. Prior to her retirement, she taught school at Turnersville and Travis Middle School in Temple. Mrs. Collier and her husband were leaders in securing a water system for Oenaville and Belfalls, spending many years meeting with government officials and contacting are residents to secure right-of-ways, finalizing the project in 1962. The resulting O and B Water System was the first in Bell County. She served as President of the O and B Water System 1997-2003. She also served on the Board of Directors for Belfalls Electric Co-op 1997-2004. Mrs. Collier was a member of the Oenaville Community Club and the Texas State Teachers Association.
Survivors include one son, Bill Collier of Troy; one daughter, Susan Collier of Lake Buchanan; three grandchildren; and one great grand-daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 4, 1997.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
