Mrs. Margaret Elspeth Myrick Black, 100 of Belton died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Black will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with Dennis Cabiness and Stephen Ash officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
Mrs. Black was born May 15, 1911 in Sulfur Springs Community, TX to the late John Gipson and Nora Belle Boyles Myrick. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree and was a Registered Nurse for over 50 years at Kings Daughters and the Olin Teague Veterans Hospitals in Temple. She was a member of the Betty Martin Chapter of the D.A.R. and a member of the 15th St. Church of Christ. She was an accomplished artist, authority on Scottish and Irish History, and enjoyed classical and celtic music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Crawford Black.
Mrs. Black is survived by: sons, J. David Huff and H. Logan Huff both of Killeen and daughter, Harriet Jones of Belton, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday, July 25 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home.
