Services for Marcella Olivares Ruiz, 83, of Temple will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Monday, February 23rd at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple from 5 �½ 8 pm with Rosary recited at 7 pm. Interment will follow at Bellwood Memorial Cemetery.
Marcella passed away on Thursday, February 19, at her home.
Marcella was born on July 17, 1931 to Cipriano Olivares and Trinidad Guadalcazar Olivares in Coupland, Texas. She grew up in Coupland and moved to Temple as a young girl. Marcella�½s first job as a young lady was at The Kyle Drug Store soda shop and later for Temple ISD. She met her soul mate Louis Antonio Ruiz at a church picnic and later married on November 18, 1955. Marcella was a loving housewife and devoted her time to family and God. She was a Guadalupana and a Cursillista and enjoyed serving in her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe.
She is preceded by her son, Richard Suarez; four brothers, Alphonson Olivares, Domingo Olivares, Isabel Olivares, and Pablo Olivares; and two sisters, Tomasa Garcia and Margarita Rodriguez.
Survivors include her husband; son, Louis A. Ruiz, Jr.; two daughters, Rose Anna Ruiz Manning and husband Vincent Manning, Linda Ruiz McCall and son-in-law Michael McCall; granddaughters, Jackie McCall, Angelina McCall, Alexandra McCall, and Susan Paulsen; grandson, Robert Ruiz; great-granddaughter, Sophia Isabel Ruiz; great-grandsons, Dominic Ruiz, Stephen Paulsen and Kaiden Paulsen; brother, Anastacio Olivares; sister-in-laws, Connie Olivares and Guadalupe Olivares; and several nieces and nephews. And Rusty the wonder dog.
The family would like to give special thanks to Scott & White, Dr. Bowling and Dr. Brust, Encompass Home Healthcare, Texas Home Health and her special caregivers, George and Manuela Rivera and Linda Gongora.
