Funeral Services for Manuel Mata, 63, of Temple, will be held 2 PM Friday, March 22, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery following the services. A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Mr. Mata passed from this life on March 15, 2019. Manuel Mata was born September 17, 1955, to Guadalupe and Aurora Arellano Mata in Cameron, TX.

Manuel loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed cars, fishing, BBQing, and listening to oldies music.

He was preceded in death by His father, Guadalupe Mata; mother, Aurora Arellano Mata; and brother, Robert Mata.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are, his wife, Margaret Mata; 5 sons and two daughters, Adrian Mata, Michael Mata, Michelle Mata, Joey Ortiz, Christopher Ortiz, Manuel Mata, Jr., and Tina Ann Mata; 2 brothers, Richard "Rick" Mata, Sr. and Hector Arellano; 6 sisters, Anna Marie Galvan, Lupe Pelayre, Janie Theys, Ebangelina Allen, Rhonda Mata-Salinas, and Farrah Roque; numerous grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as many other beloved friends and family members.
