Services for Mamie Paula Frieda Mersiovsky, 83, of Temple will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple with Pastor Dana Wilhelmsen officiating. Burial will follow at Greathouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Mersiovsky died Tuesday, March 22 at a local care facility.
Mrs. Mersiovsky was born December 11, 1932 in Walburg, Texas to Alvin Arldt and Frieda Hanusch Arldt. She attended parochial school at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg and was raised on a cotton farm. Her classmates teased her that she would marry Victor Martin Mersiovsky and, in 1955, they were married at Zion Lutheran Church. They had two children and Mamie was so proud that her daughter shared her papa's birthday. Mamie enjoyed gardening and planting oak trees and made the best coconut pie. She was active in the Immanuel Lutheran Church and served as president of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League for one year. She was a Sales Associate at Beall's Department Store for 34 years.
Mrs. Mersiovsky was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Bruce Mersiovsky.
She is survived by her husband, Victor; her daughter Debbie Mersiovsky; a brother Earl (Francis) Arldt; and sisters Susie Tiemann, Grace (Fred) Winkler, Wyone (Fred) Hubbard, and Annie (Ronny) Meinardus.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 25 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mamie's name may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour, 2109 West Avenue H, Temple Texas 76504.
