Lydia Fern Weber-Pippins

Lydia Fern Weber-Pippins, age 76, of Temple passed away from this life on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White hospital. Lydia was born, alongside her twin sister, Linda, in St. Ignatius, Montana on December 14th, 1948, to parents Jerl and Ara Weber.

Lydia grew up on her family farm in Charlo, Montana with 13 other siblings. She proudly served her country in the United States Army from 1967-1969. While stationed at Ft. Lewis in Yelm, Washington she married the love of her life, Kenneth Pippins on May 3rd, 1969. After her release from the army, she and Kenneth would move to Temple to build a home and make a life for themselves and their family. Together they raised 4 wonderful children.

Lydia worked for and retired from Baylor Scott & White after 23 years. She became a member of the VFW Post 1820 in Temple in 1987 and has been a life member since 2000. She served as President of the VFW Auxiliary in 2019 and had the opportunity to serve her community and fellow veterans. She attended Potter’s House Christian Church in Temple.

Anyone who met Lydia would tell you that she was kind, supportive and quick-witted. A true force to reckon with. She would often volunteer in the community for the benefit of others. She led her family to Relay for Life events, VFW fundraisers, and volunteered countless hours with her grandchildren to nursing home residents all over town. Often bringing Karaoke along with her, she loved to sing and dance. She will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Pippins, her parents Jerl & Ara Weber, her brothers Jerl “Buzz” Weber, Milton Weber, James “Pete” Weber and Charles Weber, her sisters, Hazel Trustler, Katie Seiller, Eleanor “Ellie” Mitchell, Linda Taylor.

Lydia leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons Scott Pippins and Jerl, and wife Antonia Pippins, daughter Gidget, and husband George Kline as well as daughter Monica, and husband Chris Shaw. She also leaves her brother, John Weber, sisters, Darlene Salomon, Dolly Fite, Rosalie “Chic” Noel, Terry McGuire, brother-in-law Odis, and wife Mary Pippins and sister-in-law Kathy Gulledge and as well as grandchildren Roy Sauceda, Luis Sauceda, Kevin Gulledge, Alex Kline (Ashley), Angelica Johnson (Daniel), Lesed Delarosa-Alonso (David), Shanna Kline, Joshua Pippins, Juliett Shaw, Lilliana Shaw and seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, starting at 1 o’clock p.m, followed by a service at 2 pm. The Celebration of Life gathering will follow at the Potter’s House Christian Church located at 1105 North General Bruce Drive, Temple, TX 76501.
