Lucille Brown

Lucille Nora Brown, 89 of Temple, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 in a local nursing facility. Visitation will be 68pm Monday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Private burial will be in Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Lucille Brown was born July 7, 1920 to Albert and Irene Tremblay Godin in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She graduated from Salem, Massachusetts High School in 1938. Lucille Brown received her nurses training at Holy Ghost Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. On June 10, 1944, she was married to Walter Marion Brown, Jr. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Mrs. Brown served our country in the United States ArmyUnited States Women Army Corp WAC in WWII as a surgical technician. She also worked at the old Kings Daughters Hospital, and Scott and White Hospital and Womens Clinics. In 1985, she retired after working as an LVN for 27 years. Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Temple.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Marion Brown, Jr. of Temple, her son, Paul Brown of Temple, sisters Elizabeth Chase of Oak Brook, Illinois, Jean Hughs of Middleton, Massachusetts, Ruthie Forget of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Cynthia Bouchard of Middleton, Massachusetts, grandson, Alan and wife Elizabeth, and great grandson, Griffin of Manor, Texas.
