Lucienne Bauer

d. December 24, 2013

No services are planned for Lucienne Bauer, 87, of Temple. She went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2013. She was born August 31, 1926, in Portier, France and was one of 12 children.

She married an American soldier, Horace Bauer, in 1953, and he brought her to the United States shortly after. She was proud of gaining her American citizenship and became a professional seamstress. She loved gardening and was known throughout the neighborhood for her flowers.

One of the highlights of her life was when Bob Bearden, Americas most decorated WWII soldier, came to her front door in full WWII dress. She wanted to thank him for liberating her country and she did it with a big hug and some tears of joy.

Survivors include a daughter, Martine Spharler and husband of San Antonio, a granddaughter, Patricia Nash and husband Matt of Dallas, and four greatgrandchildren.

Mrs. Bauer was living at the Meridian in Temple and loved her new accommodations.

The Meridian and staff are to be commended for the fine care and grace as they made her feel so welcome to the community there. Hospice of Scott and White gave the most incredible care in her time of need.

Please make any memorials or donations to Mrs. Bauers favorite charities for children Hope Pregnancy, where she visited often and responded to their needs with the help of Mrs. Ward, one of their volunteers, and Hope for the Hungry, an organization that feeds children in 20 countries around the world.
