Louise Murray

Louise Croft Murray, 93 of Temple, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, 500 W. Barton Ave., with Terry Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

A native of Bell County, she was born to Elmer E. Croft and Bennie Fojtasek Croft on February 6, 1926.  She graduated from Temple High School.  On June 8, 1946 she married Milton L. Murray.   She retired in 1990 with 23 years of service at Farmers Home Administration and the Olin E. Teague VA Center. She also worked several years at Baylor Scott and White as a transcriptionist.  Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, cooking and working jigsaw puzzles on her beloved iPad.  She was a member of the Assemblies of God and she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.  In her last years she lived in an assisted living facility in Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, of 66 years, her parents and her sister Josie Croft Rainer.

Survivors include her son, Milton Lee Murray Jr. (Karen) of Hewitt; 2 daughters Marilyn Rohrer of Hewitt and Lois Smith (Terry) of Temple.  She has 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A special thank you to all the staff at Garden Estates in Temple and her hospice nurse, Katrina Abernathy, and all the hospice staff that gave such wonderful care to our mother.

A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
