Louis Ray Cowboy Johnson, Jr., 62, of Temple, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Billy Ray Crow officiating. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born to Louis Ray Johnson, Sr. and Billie Skaggs Johnson in Dallas on May 4, 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Bell County. Prior to his retirement, due to ill health, he was employed with Indeco Sales in Belton. He was a member of King Solomon Masonic Lodge 1427 and Elks Lodge 138 in Temple. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his loving companion, Barbara Rose of Temple; mother, Billie Jones of Temple; two sons, Terry Wayne Johnson of Lorena and Kevin Ray Johnson of Bryan; one daughter, Shelley Johnson of Waller; two stepsons, Chuck Isbel of Chandler, Arizona and Douglas Isbel of Temple; two sisters, Carolyn James of Grand Bay, Alabama and Linda Blackmon of Temple; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was pre-ceded in death by his father and his wife, Kay Johnson.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society, 2433 Ridgepoint Drive, Suite B, Austin, Texas 78754.
