Louis Pina Fuentez, a beloved father, and faithful member of the community, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in Temple, Texas. Born on October 26, 1924, in Bremond, Texas, Louis lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends.

Louis began his working life as a farmer in Bremond before embarking on a remarkable 40-year career with American Desk from 1957 to 1997. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. His colleagues admired him for his reliability and perseverance.

Outside of work, Louis had a passion for baseball and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers. He would spend hours cheering on his favorite team, finding joy in every game he watched. As a bowler for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, he also found fulfillment and camaraderie in his hobbies and friends.

Family was at the center of Louis's world. He was a dedicated father who cherished his four children: Ralph Fuentez, Norberta Gonzales, Teresa Garver, and Isabel Eaton. They brought immense pride and joy to his life. His eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were the lights of his existence.

A devout Catholic, Louis held deep spiritual beliefs that guided him throughout his life. He was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church since 1957 and proudly served as a member of Santo Nombre. He was also involved in the Crucillista ministry and will be fondly remembered by fellow parishioners for his dedication to the church community. Additionally, Louis was an esteemed member of the Pioneer Club.

Louis's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his surviving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Fuentez Sr., Norberta Fuentez, and Claudia Fuentez, brothers, Ben Fuentez, Joe Fuentez Jr., and Saturnino Fuentez, and sister, Socorro Retana. Also, by his beloved wife, Faustina Fuentez, who stood by his side and shared a lifetime of love and precious memories. His siblings Felix Fuentez, Lus Fuentez, Tony Fuentez, Anita Ramos, Alberta Fuentez, Lupe Ruiz, and Janie De Jesus also mourn the loss of their dear brother.

The memory of Louis Pina Fuentez will be honored at a visitation held on Monday, August 28th, 2023, from 5-8 pm with a holy rosary recited at 7 pm at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday, August 29th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Louis Pina Fuentez leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May his gentle soul find eternal rest as his memory lives on in the hearts of those he held dear.
