Lorene Jamison

Lorene Jamison, 89, of Temple, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple with Rev. Rick Gillis officiating.

Mrs. Jamison was born to Irvin C. and Mellie Hillyard Williams in Rogers, Texas on August 26, 1918. She married Harry S. Jamison in Lampasas in 1968. She was employed as a school teacher for 10 years at schools in San Saba, Cherokee and Star. The focus of her career as a teacher was special education. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She attended Meadow Oaks Baptist Church in Temple.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Gunn and husband, Stanley; sister, Gertie Plant; three stepchildren; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Shirley Newbury; brothers, I.C. Williams, E.C. Williams, W.J. Williams and an infant; and sisters, Clem Malicoat, Gladys Oldfield, Billie Easterwood and Hattie Breeding.
