Lon Malcolm Vaughn

Services for Lon Malcolm Vaughn, 87, of Temple will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Lon M. Vaughn died on Monday, May 29, 2017, at his residence.

Lon Malcolm Vaughn was born on September 12, 1929 to Obie M. Vaughn and Loraine Rush Vaughn in Moody, Texas. Lon graduated high school and served in the Texas National Guard and Reserves. He retired in 1959 after 24 years of employment from Reliable Life Insurance Company as an insurance agent. Mr. Vaughn was a Godly man and enjoyed singing gospel with his friends. He was a proud member of the Knob Creek Masonic Lodge # 401, Kiwanis Club, and Optimist Club. He would tinker on his truck and would be seen throughout Temple cruising. He spent most of his time drinking coffee and telling stories with his friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Vaughn.

Survivors include his caregiver, Emilie Garza and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lon's memory to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held before the service on Thursday, June 1, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
